ICT Advent Calendars!!!
Our class enjoyed using Powerpoint to make our own advent calendars. To do this we needed to set up hyperlinks from the doors to a particular slide. We also added animations and sound files to them. Click on the links below to download, let me know if they don’t display properly.

Mary deans school
is so cool
The children are so bright
They never fight
The work is fun
Sometimes you get a bun
The break times are long
I practice my song
The gym halls great
You can partner with a mate
On your birthday you geat a sweet
What a tasty treat
Science lessons dont blast off your head
So you dont have to stay in bed
There isnt even one fool in our school!

School Uniform
It is important to wear the correct school uniform because when we go on school trips the adults/teachers can find us easily, also it makes us look smart.
But we can wear mufti on selected days like children in need days and if you’re a house point winner. In addition, we get to wear mufti occasionaly on fridays.

Weather Kids
Heart Radio recently ran a competition to find Devon’s Weather Kid. The competition involved using some new software they are promoting called Radio In Schools to create a weather podcast. These were then sent to Heart Radio, who are judging them. The winners will get to read the weather on the Heart Breakfast show! Mr Cozens class had a go at entering and you can hear their podcasts by following this link…..

After School Gymnastics Club
On Tuesdays after school, Year4,5 and 6 children have been learning gymnastic skills on the floor, box and ropes.
Some of the children will be training to be student coaches during the spring and summer term.
Below are some of the skills they have learnt so far:
Year 4 Gymnastics
During our gymnastics lessons with Miss Horwell we have been learning how to balance on our own and in pairs, perform gymnastic shapes in the air and roll in different ways. We have learnt to do shoulderstands, headstands, handstands, bridges, forward rolls, tuck jumps, straddle jumps and pike jumps. Everybody has learnt to do these gymnastic movements in pairs and/or independently. Also we have learnt to use a springboard safely to jump on to the box. All children can jump up on to the box onto their knees and some have learnt to squat and straddle their feet on to the box. We have learn to make balancing routines on the floor and benches. In addition, we have learnt to climb the ropes, some of us can reach the top!
Below are some pictures of us practising these gymnastic skills.
The dance club
In dance club (every Monday) we’ve already learnt two dances called Ji ho and zumba. It is so fun because we learn new dances every week. Lots of people have joined but theres too many so no one else can join this term so dont ask!!! We get very tired doing lots of different dances. We need to bring our bottles and you dont have to but we wear trainers. Sometimes we do assemblies for the school.

Shadow Puppets
These great shadow puppets will tell us a few facts about the sun. Do you know how shadows are made? How can you make a small or large shadow?

Winter poems
To put us all into a wintery mood, Maddie in Year 4 has written some Winter Poems and put them into a Powerpoint presentation. Enjoy!
